Updates- May 2012

Couple of things:

- Got a job
- Made a new friend

I was supposed to post this two weeks back. Was too lazy. Ye I cleared the interview in DC. It was a hard earned one. I deserved every bit of it. It was my only hope and I am glad that I made it through. Close call though. Had I failed in it, things would've been nasty. Was finding it hard to recover from my previous failure at Oregon. But this was sweet. Two simple rounds of interviews. One with a BA and another with the director.
I headed back to Chicago on 15th of May. Heard back from them on 16th saying that they were extending a job offer. I was stunned for a while. I actually didn't expect it. I had read the reviews in glassdoor that ABC was stingy in offering jobs. They would interview many and recruit just a handful. It took me a while for the news to sink in.

Dinesh Jayapathy- offered a job as Sr. Business Analyst in the Advisory Board Company, Washington DC.

I had made it. Hairs stood on end. Heart beat shot up. Eyes filled with tears. It was 2 PM in Chicago and I called mom in India to inform the news. They were so happy. It had been 4 weeks since I spoke with them. Mailed a friend and went out to jog in the park. Thanked Krishna for everything. He was happy.
He gave me exactly what I had asked for. Location- Washington DC.
This is getting bigger than I imagined.

My dream of the World dominion is not far away indeed. Lets see.

The Master

The date reads 6th of may 2012.

Lonely day.

I duly earn my Master's degree.

Master of Science in Management Information Systems.

Have given 5 interviews so far. 4 down the drain. 5th scheduled in DC.
Was so hopeful of the 4th one in Oregon. I was very much capable of that position.

Was rejected with a feedback saying "Lack of Interest" .

It hurt badly. I couldn't accept it. It was the only thing I had ever asked someone. He failed me.
I lost my faith in him.

Now left with nobody to talk to.

Can someone be Judged?

How many times in life have we come across situations where we would have to judge a person to make a critical decision in our life?
Friends, Spouse, Doctor, Hair Stylist.

Well although some of these we do judge, there are some which we can't are are forced into our lives: Dad, Mom, The bus driver, All the vehicle drivers on the road for that matter heh.

And then comes the real question: how well can you judge a person? Who would have thought back then that the technologies of two high school drop outs like Bill and Steve would run the world now? Any takers?

In my opinion, you cannot judge a book by its cover, neither can you judge it by its content; after all the book is just a product of a pretty resourceful mind. Point being: the book cannot be judged at all.

Quite often (I'd rather say its pretty obvious) a person is judged by his past deeds. Hmm, how good is that?
How far can you look into his past? Especially in this age of swindle and unrest the best option would be to choose the right person for the job by what he is then and not by what he was before, and then simply trust the process. Odds of getting the job done: I'd say it depends on how good you've been to people who put their trust on you.

Contemplations from Indian soil

You are Getting there. Keep at it.
Do not forget that you live with your greatest enemy "Your mind"

Befriend him. Teach him the ways. Show him success.
Stay calm. Few more days.

The Soul's Secret Journey

Excerpts from the writings of
His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
Dreams and Past Lives

In dreams we sometimes see things that we have never experienced in the present body. Sometimes in dreams we think that we are flying in the sky, although we have no experience of flying. This means that once in a previous life, either as a demigod or astronaut, we flew in the sky. The impression is there in the stockpile of the mind, and it suddenly expresses itself. It is like fermentation taking place in the depths of water, which sometimes manifests itself in bubbles on the water's surface. Sometimes we dream of coming to a place we have never known or experienced in this lifetime, but this is proof that in a past life we experienced this. The impression is kept within the mind and sometimes becomes manifest either in dream or in thought. The conclusion is that the mind is the storehouse of various thoughts and experiences undergone during our past lives. Thus there is a chain of continuation from one life to another, from previous lives to this life, and from this life to future lives.
